My Rose
A Valentine's Poem
A Valentine's Poem
A day of celebration comes:
Of bittersweet recollection.
A day of my blooming Rose's scent,
yet missing is her complexion.
Though celebrate this love I will!
Distance will stifle not
my adoration of who she is,
for by her I was fairly caught.
I wish for every clock destroyed,
that each alarm be missed.
So our time together never ends
and our closeness would persist.
So ever o'er time and space
and after every star is dead:
My dedication will persist
for in my heart she has embed.
If I could share each day with her,
and make our two lives one:
It'd make this man more blessed than all
with the most joy under the sun.
From early on my passion strong
to know her more and more.
I fell in love with her soon after
she graced my office door.
The things and people that she loves
she treats with selflessness.
A trait so prevalent and warm
it deserves all emphasis!
So on today when apart we are
yet always on my mind:
I make a promise that I am yours
and hope one day you'll be mine.
…but I'm not cooked enough to know by scent so…
